The Q54 bus station on Metropolitan Ave, Queens (Metropolitan Av/70 Rd) is a HAZARD to anyone.

It's located in front of a gas station. There is a lot of fume from gasoline, a lot of carbon dioxide from cars and trucks, and the speed in which cars get in/out of the station is very dangerous.

HAZARD: Ground-level ozone caused in part by gasoline fumes, groundwater hazards from petroleum products leaking into the ground, and exposure hazards from other chemicals that might be used at the station because it’s also a repair shop, among others

Outlines Hazards:

* Particulate matter (PM).

* Hydrocarbons (HC).

* Nitrogen oxides (NOx).

* Carbon monoxide (CO).

* Sulfur dioxide (SO2).

* Hazardous air pollutants (toxics).

* Greenhouse gases.

I do not have a car and I rely on public transportation.

There are TWO major daycares near by and lots of Parents/Kids have to walk further and catch the bus on Metropolitan Av/69 Rd

In addition, there are no sits or shelters on either stations: Metropolitan Av/70 Rd / Metropolitan Av/69 Rd

AND the schedule is NOT reliable.

Please relocate Metropolitan Av/70 Rd bus stop and add sits/shelters on both bus stations.

Please address this issue ASAP. Fall is coming and it will soon be winter.

Thanks,

Jane Anderson
