Lowes - Poor instillation and very poor customer serve!

Details
We had over $5000,00 of carpet laid 19 months ago. The seams started showing in the hall and entry way of 2 bed rooms and raising up. I called and asked them about it and wasn’t getting anywhere with the sales person I was talking to and asked to talk to manger and was told they would call me Back. That never happened so I called again several times and they was left on hold several times. I finally got to talk to manager and was told that contract only covered instillation for one year. They cold send some out to look at it for $35 but if anything needed do I would have to pay for it! I said that’s poor business and I’d get someone else to do it. I would not let them make anymore money off of me!

Why is this poor business? They have a one year warranty on the installation of the carpet which seem like it would be plenty of time for a problem with the installation to show up. It would be reasonable for them to expect you to pay for service after the warranty period.

Lowes in Birmingham, Alabama - Don't buy carpet from Lowe's - horrible customer service

I placed an order to have carpet installed in one of my rental houses for $1922 with the expectation that it would be installed in the normal 2-3 week timeline that it has taken in the past. I called and went by the store and left phone messages for someone to call me back 8 times and no one ever would to let me know when the carpet would come in or be installed. I left 3 messages for Rodney Geeslin the store manager to call me back and he never did until I called a fourth time. I ended up talking to the CPO(Central Processing Office) 6 more times with poor customer service. They offered me what they think is compensation for it taking 8 weeks to get the carpet installed and having poor customer service. It is not even close to what it cost me for having to wait 5 additional weeks to get the carpet installed with missed rent of $250 a week for a total of $1,250 and the headaches that came along with it. This store is very poorly managed and many of the employees have no clue what is going on. This store and the whole experience reminds me of a Kmart. Because of all of this I will never buy carpet from Lowe's in Trussville, AL again and will definitely tell all of my investor friends and leave every review I can to let other people know what they can expect from Lowe's and to not buy carpet there either.

For weeks they remain out of stock of a carpet even when they put it on sale. They gave like 220sqft of it n that seems to be the same at 10 different menards in a 60 mile radius. If they know its a hot seller wouldnt u think they would stock more? N it takes them 3 to...

If you can order it elsewhere and get it in 3-4 days why don't you just do that? Oh, you forgot to mention that the price would be much higher.

Menards management knows exactly what they are doing to offer the best price. The reason you may wait 3-4 weeks is that they are buying carpet by the truckload rather than having small pieces being shipped via a common carrier, saving big money on freight charges.

It’s because your fellow consumers have so used that “it’s defective” line that no one believes it anymore. You people will order anything online and when you get screwed over you act all shocked.

Is it actually defective or are you doing the very very very common lie because you changed your mind or had financial problems? You SAY it’s defective but they are not going to believe your item is defective due to all the fraudulent customers. So you’re only a victim of your own choices. Such as using the Internet to order such a large item SIGHT UNSEEN!

Not saying you are doing any of this, just giving a explanation of the WHY you’re not getting anywhere. You have to prove your defect and they have to agree. If they dont agree that your item is defective are you going to pay to ship it back from them?? No you wouldn’t.

So why would you expect them to eat the costs of shipping due to you saying it’s defective. Try asking them what YOU need to do to get them to take it back and replace or refund. Too many online retailers are in the not giving a squat about refunds.

As they actually get to keep the money from your purchase even if the credit card companies or banks give you back a credit. It’s actually only YOU that gets hurt due to charge backs.

I bought a carpet with size of 200 x 240 CM. After ordering, and paid for it, waited for 3 weeks to get to my place. Instead of a carpet, I got a floor mat. I went back to my order, not knowingly it was changed to 800MM x 1200MM. When I check with the customer service...

This, unfortunately, is industry standard for carpet manufacturers. They assume that the carpet will be stretched (which is standard installation for jute back carpet) and cut and send it 2-3 inches short of the ordered length.

The defect may have been caused from poor handling by Menards, the manufacturer, the delivery person, or it may have just been an unseen defect from the vendor.

I am not sure of the attitudes you received when dealing with Menards, but ultimately Menards doesn't make the carpet or control the time it takes to come from the manufacturer.

Purchased carpet from Home Depot. This wool carpet sheds .

At first vacuum the canister fill two or three times. When I looked it up it stated the carpet would cease to shed after three or four vacuums. This has become a joke I purchased this carpet in May and have vacuumed at least twice a week. Still shedding. This is my first attempt to contact Home Depot with this issue
