NOTICE OF POTENTIAL LEGAL ACTION
I am writing in response to false and inflammatory statements made about me on the internet. All statements made about me regarding any connection to the most unfortunate Gravelle (“The Caged Kids”) criminal case are false and subject to libel laws. Another social worker was investigated, charged and convicted. Contrary to what has been stated about me on the internet, I was not part of the criminal case, and I was not charged. Again, I had NO connection to the Gravelle court case, thus, those individuals who have made such false and malicious statements about me are committing libel.
Second, all allegations made against me by individuals suggesting that I engaged in fraudulent insurance billing, over billing, incorrect billing, having no 1099’s, are also false and also subject to libel laws. Moreover, internet users who have made statements about my character, professional practice and integrity are also acting maliciously, spreading false information, and engaging in defamatory conduct.
I did not want to enter into this arena but it is my intention to take legal action against those individuals who have defamed me. Those persons who have made these defamatory statements against me could have easily verified that I was not a part of the Gravelle criminal case.
LASTLY, I AM DEMANDING THAT THE FOLLOWING BE DONE IMMEDIATELY;
a) That each moderator remove every false reference about me from this site.
b) That each person/blogger who has posted information about me do some simple checking, verify that the information is false, post on this and any other web site where they have written about me, a specific retraction and an apology.
c) That the moderators of this web site contact me with the true identity of those bloggers on this web site who have defamed me.
It has been my extreme privilege to work with remarkable children and families over many years. As a social worker, artist, art therapist, and advocate for a healthier environment, my focus will continue to be for growth and healing.

LowCostDiscs.com

I ordered the 6-CD set of the Sopranos from LowCostDiscs.com. Unfortunately they sent me the "Friends" cd's instead (they took forever to get and came from somewhere in China, packing material was not in English). I returned the discs to the address I was given by LowCostDiscs.com and mailed them back. I made sure my return address was on the package. Well, 3 months later and LowCostDiscs.com claims they never received the package, and it was never returned to me.

Never will order from them again, and will never use any website that is associated with Google Checkout Team, as they were no help either.

I ordered something from lowcostdiscs.com last April and they ask you to send a check and then they will send your order, I fell for it, sent my check and they cashed it the next day, and they never sent my order, this was last April and they still have my money, and I have nothing, I filed a complaint in May of last year, they closed their file stating that nothing can be done because LowCostDiscs.com is not a member with them, that is great. I now cannot even find their website.

Would love to hear if anyone else has been ripped off by them. Thanks.

HEARING AIDS-DOING RESEARCH BEFORE PURCHASING MAKES SENSE AND SAVES A LOT OF CENTS.

If there is any one product whose acquisition, ownership,usage,operation,and complexity, is more difficult than A HEARING AID, I am not aware of it.
In my life, the only thing I can think of is a Computer.
But as I try to think through the process of purchasing a Computer,and all the other things mentioned above, I don't think the experience and comparison is an accurate analogy.
A Prospect for a Computer is not tested for Need.
No one evaluates whether the Prospect or His Family are suffering from him not owning and using a Computer.
If, for example, a Computer could benefit a Business, it could be Purchased by one Person and used by another.
This can't be done with a Hearing Aid.
There are Schools you can attend, and classes you can take, on how to use a Computer. You can't do that with a Hearing Aid.
There are unbiased Newspaper and Magazine Columns and Articles you can read, which compare Computers,Software,Features,Problems,and Maintenance, of a Computer, that are nowhere except here, to be found.
There is more competition in the Retail Sales of Computers than Hearing Aids, making the Purchase of the Most Expensive Personal Computer Much Less Expensive than the Most Expensive Hearing Aid.
Even an iPhone has more chips and complexities than a Hearing Aid and sells now for $400 or $500 Dollars, Compared to From $3,000 to $8,000 for a Hearing Aid.
The Persons making either a Computer, or anything connected to the Making of Computer, or Hearing Aids, only have to have a Business License to do so.
The Person selling any Computer, even the Most Expensive and Complicated One, like those used by NASA don't have to have a License to do so.
You can be a Sales Associate for Best Buy, or even a Member of the Geek Squad, and not have to be licensed by the State to perform your Sales or Maintenance Job.
Almost Without Exception, Every State, Especially California, requires a License to Dispense Hearing Aids.
In Fact, there is a 2 Phase Test, much,much, more Difficult than that Required for a Drivers License, to be able to sell Hearing Aids in the State Of California.
It almost appears as though the Hearing Aid Dispensers Test in Intended to Keep People Out Of The Business so as to make it Less Competitive and thus More Expensive For The CONSUMERS TO BUY.
YET YOU DON'T NEED A LICENSE TO BE A BRAKE MECHANIC OR ANY OTHER QUALIFICATIONS AS ESTABLISHED BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO WORK ON REPAIRING OR INSTALLING BRAKES FOR THE PUBLIC.
YOU DO NOT NEED A LICENSE TO REPAIR BRAKES ON YOUR OWN, OR YOUR NEIGHBORS CARS, IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, BUT YOU DO NEED A LICENSE TO WORK ON YOUR OWN ,OR ANYONE ELSE'S AIRPLANE.

I guess they figure you can be responsible for killing more People with an Airplane than you can with a Motor Vehicle.
Or Else, there are more VOTERS that WORK ON THEIR OWN CARS THAN THERE ARE AIRPLANE OWNERS.
You also need a State License to Cut Hair or Toe nails in the State of California, and it is a FELONY to copy such a LICENSE.

Hearing Aid Trade Publications and Magazines can be sourced from that Site.
There are very informative Interviews with Key People in the Hearing Aid Industry on every SUBJECT in the Business.
Each Manufacturer's Website has very informative information not only on their Products, but all ASPECTS OF HEARING LOSS AND HEARING AIDS.
Search Engines make available total information on Ears, Hearing,Acoustics,Ear Disease,Colleges, and Universities,specializing in Hearing, and then there are Plenty of Consumer Associations and Organizations, pertaining to Hearing Loss and Hearing Aids.
Unlike Computers, where there are DOMINANT RETAILERS like BestBuy,Circuit City,etc,that create a COMPETITIVE MARKETPLACE TO THE BENEFIT OF THE CONSUMER,SUCH PLAYERS DON'T EXIST IN THE HEARING AID BUSINESS.
The only RETAILER with real impact is SEARS and they lease out space to MIRACLE-EAR who attempts to SELL AT THE HIGHEST AND MOST PROFITABLE PRICES IN THE COUNTRY. IT IS A CONCESSION WITH SEARS.
THE SAME COMPANY,AMPLIFON,A MARKETING COMPANY ONLY,ALSO OWNS THE SONUS BRAND.
THE PROFIT MARGIN ON COMPUTERS AT BESTBUY IS 7%.
THE PROFIT MARGIN ON HEARING AIDS, SOLD AT SEARS,SONUS,MIRACLE-EAR,BELTONE,AUDIBEL,WALMART,SONUS,HOUSE EAR CLINICS,OR ALMOST ANY HEARING AID DISPENSING ORGANIZATION IN THE UNITED STATES, INCLUDING COSTCO, IS ABOUT 80%.
PROBABLY ABOUT THE SAME MARGINS THAT MICROSOFT ENJOYS. DEPENDING UPON THE PRODUCT GROUP.
There is a lot of GROSS DOLLARS when you play with percentages.
For example: If a Hearing Aid cost a Dealer $1,000 and the Dealer sells it for $2,000, enjoying a $1,000 profit, the GROSS PROFIT IS 50%.

BESTBUY HAS TO SELL 100 COMPUTERS AT $1,000 EACH, FOR TOTAL SALES OF $100,000 DOLLARS TO MAKE THE SAME $7,000 DOLLARS PROFIT ON THE SALE OF 1 HEARING AID.
THE PROFIT ON THE SALE OF 2 HEARING AIDS WITH A COST OF $1,000 AND A SALES PRICE OF $7,000 IS THE SAME AS BESTBUY HAVING TO SELL $200,000 DOLLARS.
The Time involved in the Sale Of 2 Hearing Aids, on a Yearly basis, from beginning to end, start to finish, is at the most 4 hours.
The Consumers Goal should be to get BESTBUY into the HEARING AID BUSINESS TO CREATE COMPETITION AND BRING THE RETAIL PRICES DOWN.
THAT IS TO THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CONSUMER.
AND REMEMBER, THE PEOPLE BUYING HEARING AIDS ARE USUALLY NOT THE SAME PEOPLE BUYING COMPUTERS, AND EVEN THOSE THAT DO, DON'T REALLY BUY THEM ON THE SAME NEED BASIS.
VERY FEW PEOPLE, REALLY NEED A COMPUTER.

Other Company - Customer support

My package never got to my granddaughter in Rio Rancho New Mexico. When I called to report the package to the 1-800 number per request of New Mexico, the person in customer support by the name of Claudia was very rude to me. I find it difficult to believe someone whose job it is to serve the public has no manners what so ever.

This happened on September27th at 9:12 in the morning.

Maybe she will be written up and be required to attend acceptable behavorial training.

Claudia shame on you and your attitude! I could not tell her this myself because she hung up on me.

Tonya Elton stiffs good samaritan

In August '07, when arriving in Las Vegas for vacation, I found a Palm Treo (phone / PDA retailing for ~ $650) just outside of the airport. Cynical enough to believe that if I turned it into the airport 'lost and found', the odds of it being returned to its' owner were slim to none. Heck, I was on vacation, so I decided that I would have enough time to do the right thing - - get it back to its' owner myself.

Having reached the owner (who had returned to her home in Boise, ID from Las Vegas earlier that day), I was showered with thanks and praises and promises to reimburse shipping - plus pay a 'finder's fee' - for getting it back to her. I also had to hear a few hard-luck stories, and how she really needed something nice to happen to her at this point in her life.

The next day I found the most convenient way to get it back to her, and just before mailing, called to make sure the charges were acceptable. Did she want overnight delivery? The next day being Saturday, would she pay extra for Saturday delivery? Of course! It was only $41.00, and having access to the business-contact information in her phone was invaluable.

The phone went out with a copy of the shipping bill and with my address, where the check should be mailed. I wouldn't even consider charging her for my cell-phone-roaming charges (for the calls I made to her) - that would be petty. And there is no 'finder's fee' to be paid when someone genuinely just wants to do a favor.

A few days after she should have received it, I asked her (via e-mail) to confirm she had received it. Yes, she had, and would be mailing a check that day.

I have never gotten reimbursement, despite a number of follow-up e-mails. I am now asking her for another $4.00 for my cell phone charges - a total of $45.00. She is stiffing me for $45.00. It makes me think that her hard-luck situations may have been brought on herself.

Tonya Elton not only stiffs people when it comes to $, she likes to "stiff" male clients in the homes she listed as a real estate agent. She slept with a mentally ill married old man in his daugther's houses listed with her and ruined his family.

She is a piece of work! Hopefully she is never allowed to sell real estate again. It is being reported to the Idaho Real Estate Board of Commission. I see a so-called friend of hers accused the good samaritan of being a psychopath.

There is one person to be labeled a psychopath and that is Tonya Elton!

If anyone is going to get their KARMA (as her friend KARMA wrote), it's going to be Tonya. Oh yeah, Tonya's life is filled with hard-luck stories, she creates the whole bloody mess herself!

Other Company - HEARING AIDS-SELECTION AND PRICING WITH MISSIONARY ZEAL

The best analogy I can think of regarding the agressive pricing and selection of recommended Hearing Aids for a User, is that of Religious Missionaries.

The Mormons and the Witnesses are shy and subtle compared to those in the Hearing Aid Industry.

The opportunity of a sale must be thought of as a one time possibility (and more often than not, because of the average age of People buying hearing aids, they don't live long enough to need a second set) because the Goal seems to be: Go For The Throat' and of course both ears.

While there are different levels of product available, the typical mentality is that every Prospect should be convinced that they need (by any means possible) the highest priced set of Hearing Aids.

The worst offense of course, is when the least expensive model is sold at the highest price obtainable.

The Consumer is not as aware of the Pricing of Hearing Aids as they are the Price of Gas, Bread,or Milk, so that when they hear their Neighbors or Friends have paid $5,000, $6,000, or $7,000 for a set of Hearing Aids, they assume that is what they cost, and they either buy them or they don't.

They have no idea what constitutes the Pricing Of Hearing Aids, and neither do the People Selling Them.

The Pricing is basically established on the Principle of "Whatever the Traffic Will Bear".

Less Ethical Hearing Aid Dispensers will provide the Least Expensive Product and Charge the Most They Can, since they Rationalize it is their Superior Education, Knowledge, Title, and Experience, that really established the Price, Except that they are afraid to make those claims.

The only Costs usually discussed is the COST OF THE HEARING AID.

If you have one chance to sell a set of Hearing Aids, the Theory is: Go For The Most You Can Get.

They aren't coming back.

Strike while the Iron is Hot.

The Hearing Aid Industry is going through a "Feeding Frenzy".

What is interesting is that Behind-The-Ear Model Hearing Aids now make up over 52% of the total sales.

Since they are mass produced, and manufactured in Third World Countries as assembled units, where the Labor Costs are Pennies on the Dollar, compared to the United States, or Europe, the Wholesale Costs of Hearing Aids are as much as 10 times higher than they were just 5 years ago.when in fact, because of the fact they are now manufactured off-shorte, at very,very,low labor costs, and because they are now mass produced instead of being Custom Made, which is a much more expensive manufacturing process. INSTEAD OF THE HEARING AIDS BEING MORE EXPENSIVE, THEY SHOULD EITHER BE LESS EXPENSIVE, OR AT LEAST CLOSER TO THE PRICE THEY USED TO BE.

The Fact that they are now Digital should have, and probably has, reduced Manufacturing Cost, and Certainly Customer Service Costs, because now there are very few returns because of Customer Intolerance.

The Primary Reason Hearing Aids are being sold at much higher prices than ever, is because the Public is Accepting the Higher Prices.

For Reasons, I can't explain, the Public is buying and accepting the Higher Price Mentality.

I think its because of the People Now Engaged In The Sale Of Hearing Aids.

Medical Facilities,including Hospitals and Universities, and Medical Doctors, including Ear Specialists.

The Primary Reason these People are now selling Hearing Aids is because of the Tremendous Profit Potential, and the Fact they are easier to dispense and fit now, because of Digital Signal Processing THAN EVER.

Yes, IT IS MUCH EASIER TODAY THAN EVER BEFORE TO SELL AND FIT HEARING AIDS AND TO PROVIDE AND ACCEPTABLE OWNERSHIP EXPERIENCE.

Hearing Aids today, are more tolerable, and more effective, in more evnironments and situations.

Regardless of those Facts, instead of Hearing Aids Costing Less, they are Actually being accepted at much higher, yes, much higher , prices than ever.

Prospective users and buyers of Hearing Aids should shop around for the Best Price, Best Policies,Best Products, and the Most Experienced Hearing Aid Dispensers, with the highest levels of Honesty and Integrity, and not those that have an inflated impression of themself, and what they do.

It has become obvious to me that there are a lot of People that have a lot of questions or interest in Hearing Aids.

I have no idea who these People are.

The Hearing Aid Industry is a very secretive and esoteric Industry. At every level.

I am not aware of any other Industry quite like the Hearing Aid Industry.

It is a very small Industry, and there are very few Players.

By Players, I mean, Human Beings and Companies.

Like Washington D.C., there appears to be a lot of insiders.

I have been a Hearing Aid Dispenser for about 24 years.

I have had my own Office or Practice, for about 17 years.

I have about 60 years of real life experiences including employment at every level, by every type of Employer, including Self-Employment.

I also supported a large family, on a single income, on straight commission.

I consider myself a Consumer Advocate.

I also consider myself a Christian, and when I say that, I mean no disrespect to any other Religion,including Jews, because I have learned, and believe, that the basis for all Religious Beliefs are the 10 Commandments.

The Belief and Practice of those Principals produces and results in a Great Society. Not necessarily the type Lyndon Johnson spoke about.

Accordingly, I am suggesting, and asking, anyone, that has any interest or questions, regarding anything, about the Hearing Aid Industry, whether it the Policies,Products,Practices,Pricing,Hearing Loss,Hearing Aid Dispensers,Benefits,Providers,Warranties,or anything else,and whether its for Yourself, or any Family Member, Please do not hesitate to use this Website for that purpose.

This also includes any information you want about Options,Alternatives,Warranties,Hearing Aid Batteries,Assistive Listening Devices, Medicare,Insurance Companies,Groups,Providers, or anything, or anyone, else.

HEARING AIDS - WHY NOT TO BUY PRIVATE LABEL BRANDED HEARING AIDS - PART II

This is an addendum to the previous article on the subject matter: Why Not To Buy A Private Label Branded Hearing Aid.

The saga of an 87 year old Great Grandmonth. A Wonderful Lady, who copes with her hearing deficit with a very positive attitude.

Without the use of a perfectly functioning hearing aid, this Person is almost totally deaf.

As it is, She only has the use of her left ear because her right ear has a physical deformity, even though she had equal hearing levels in both ears. If she ever loses the remaining hearing in her left ear, there is always the possibility that surgery could be performed on her right ear which would then permit the insertion of an earmold of some type. She might also be a patient for an implant or some other alternative device, which is not warranted at this time, since she seems to function quite well with just one perfectly functioning hearing aid in her left ear.

So the future for Her is not bleak.

One correction for the previous article is that the Daughter of the Great Grandmother called the Dispensing Office in Aberdeen, Washington, not the Hearing Aid User, who for the most part cannot hear through the use of a standard telephone.

Any Hearing Aid Office could have replaced the Earmold Tubing which had separated from the Earmold.

The Hearing Aid could then have been re-attached to the new tubing, and since the Hearing Aid was working, the Lady would have had her assistive hearing restored. The functions,features,and programs, of the Hearing Aid were not altered by anyone, including me.

I believe the Earmold Tubing broke and separated from the Earmold because it had never been changed or replaced for a very long time, if at all.

Tubing on Custom Made Ear Molds should probably be changed and replaced about every six months, depending upon the Individual and the Climate. The Plastic Material becomes very brittle and hard, and conducive to cracking,leaking,and, breaking.

The Replacent of such tubing is usually accomplished on a no-charge basis as a good will gesture.

The Daughter of the Hearing Aid User, had no idea when she contacted my Office, that I am a REXTON Hearing Aid Dealer, and more importantly, no one had any idea that the Hearing Aid the Great Grandmother actually owned and used was actually a REXTON Hearing Aid, Model Regatta,BTE.

The reason they lucked out in contacting my office is because being a REXTON Dealer, we have the computer software necessary to the programming of the Hearing Aid.

Any other Hearing Aid Dealer, at least those who do not distribute REXTON products, would not have been able to identify the Hearing Aid as to who actually manufactured it, nor would they have had the computer software or the training to program the hearing aid.

They would however have been able to replace the tubing, which I am sure they would have done. At least the Great Grandmother would have had her hearing ability restored.

Since I am a REXTON Dealer, and do have the computer software,training,and experience, I was able to change the programming in the Hearing Aid (after performing a free hearing test) which resulted in the best performance of the Hearing Aid Amplification for the User's Hearing Requirement.

For some reason, perhaps lack of knowledge or experience, the existing program and amplification settings, were not, in my opinion, set for the best performance of the Hearing Aid for this particular Hearing Aid User and her preferences and needs.

When everything was finished, the Great Grandmother stated that she was now hearing better with her Hearing Aid than she ever had before.

She expressed her luck in finding our Office as some type of a Miracle. I asked her not to use the word Miracle.

I also recommended that She not waste her money on having her old Miracle-Ear Hearing Aid Repaired since , at least in my opinion, She will never receive the power she needs from a Custom Made Product of any Manufacture.

Behind the Ear model Hearing Aids provide the most power and gain, primarily because there is more room available, because of the physical size of the Instrument for stronger,larger,more powerful,Components.

The primary reason this User visited a Miracle-Ear Office first, was because, She did not know who really made Her most current Hearing Aid, and She did know that She also had a Miracle-Ear Hearing Aid, even if it didn't work, and She doesn't like Miracle-Ear because of prior bad experiences, She felt She at least could related to, and identify with, the Miracle-Ear Name.

She was probably lucky the Office was un-staffed at the time of her visit.

This Wonderful,Sweet,Elderly Lady, paid close to $2,500 for a Hearing Aid that when it was a Current Product we sold for less than $1300 Dollars.

The primary reason for not having the legitimate Brand Name of REXTON on the Hearing Aid was probably so any PROSPECT could not compare prices by Brand Name. Apple compared to Apple.

What I also find disgusting is, that the Dispensing Office only provided a 1 Year Warranty.

All the REXTON Hearing Aids we sell are provided AT LEAST A 2 YEAR WARRANTY.

This whole episode and experience makes me kind of sad.

All I can say is: BUYER BEWARE

House owner and rent liver

thIS year feburary we rented a house. We started a tomato plantattion this year. Me and my brother was looking foword to eat the tomato. But our F***** owner of the house cut the tomato without our permission, just to fix some F****** sprinkler.Please tell us a solution.Please???????We grew this tomato all year long, day and night we were giving it our best effort to keep them alive, it felt like a waste.

Also when I Had a bad fever, that owner came in to the back yard and start mowing grass for F****** 4 hours straight. SO SAD -.-

Other Company - Read the TOS every time you order somethign online!

These pills made me sick too. But I never had a problem with the company.

Every time I order a trial on a website I read the TOS very carefully, and look for the trial information (most is 15, 30, 45, or even 60 days) and they give a number to call and cancel. I cancelled when I was supposed to and have not heard from them or had any charges form them.

I do not like the pills, however all I read about is *** customer service. If you read the page before you ordered the pills you would know that if you didn't cancel your trial, your card would be charged, as it says so in the TOS.
